I'm not worldly enough to know whether people would actually dare to drink this stuff but fake or not these are potent images.

Yeah so Bea Arthur died, and it's funny because I was just watching a bit of The Golden Girls the other day, haven't seen it in like eighteen years or something, and there were two gags right in a row that I not only did not understand, but were so surreal that I couldn't even begin to unpack them. Maybe I need to watch more of The Golden Girls... or maybe I'm just an idiot.
In other news David Duke was arrested in and kicked out of the Czech republic for holocaust denying. He wrote this book which I guess was being translated and went to promote it... If you write a book in which you deny the holocaust you should always make sure that you only visit countries that are cool with that. Jeez what does that say about us... I know we have that whole first amendment thing but I kind of like how the Czechs just don't fuck around with that shit.
Blacklung is going steady, I am about to embark on what could be considered the final "part" I've got it all mapped out. I am afraid that it's going to be pretty unpleasant... I don't know if anyone is actually going to want to READ this thing. On the upside I think I'm getting a lot more confident artistically.
Thursday My fellow fellow Alec Longstreth and I are doing the old exit interview and presentation at CCS. I'm figuring out which portions to read for the class. I want to traumatize them. I won't though.
Oh yeah and seeing Feiffer was really really cool. I've never had a strong connection to his work, though obviously I think it's brilliant, but he is just one of those guys, those old timers who are mostly all dead now. Seen much, done much, and so fucking smart. It was a pleasure to see him with friends and then go to Pizza Hut (I know I know) and then buy a bottle of scotch to yell into the morning with. Good day. Dane David and Brandon.
I forgot why I was here.
Justice department must prosecute.
My Athens friends should be careful, there is a gun crazy professor on the loose.
It's not the bird flu after all its the pig flu.
OH and here is a really excellent podcast I found. http://www.stanford.edu/dept/fren-i tal/opinions/
I listened to a two hour thing about Beethoven last night it was glorious.

Boobies

I'm almost half way through Rivette's La Belle Noiseuse, and I think I am declaring it one of my favorite movies ever.
It's like pornography for people who like watching other people make art.
It's also like pornography for people who like seeing Emmanuel Beart naked.

Is Twitter going to be one of those things that I shake my fist at angrily but end up caving to in the end? Like cell phones, and facebook, and um, livejournal?
I hope not.

Normally I'm not so into the whole... whatever this is... James Kochalka type novelty song thing but, well I think this is pretty cute.
Speaking of Kochalka what is the deal with people pronouncing his name Kolchaka? Do they know something I don't know? Does the L actually move from spelling to pronounciation? I'm being serious I don't know. I mean after all Mike Mignola's name is apparently correctly pronounced Minyola. I just want to know.
Also, I like James Kochalka

Massively authoritative Picasso biographer John Richardson on the artists late work.
Some person named Buffalax on youtube who makes his own bollywood translations... I'm not sure how funny I think this is, but it certainly is a thing.

I'm still working away on Blacklung. I've been meaning to post regularly again but who knows if that is going to happen.
A couple of kind reviews of Inkweed from Chris Mautner, and Charles Hatfield
Also I'm doing an Inkstuds interview on friday, I shall let the people know when it is going to be up on the site.
I feel like I've got a big post to make that hasn't quite finished gestating.
Anyway, love to you all

HEEB

Inkweed made it on to Heeb magazine's top ten comics of... something, I don't know if it's an annual list or not... Either way that's nice.
And no it's not a neo nazi publication, I think it's dedicated to young Jewish people... Ones with senses of humor.
Anyway, here is the list.
